Development of Assets Over Time

The development of assets for Shellshufflers is beginning to reach a sense of finalization in terms of art style. After working around with approaches to creating game assets; I believe I am coming to a point where I am more confident in the art style I have created for the game. The latest assets made have been the Fuel Tank, Pistol models, and another version of the LINDA Tank. The fuel tank asset I would generally consider to be the simplest of these assets to have made. The most notable thing about this model in my opinion would be the lighting bolt logo present on the Entroline Fuel Tank which does a good job representing the Ether Federation. I also made the fuel tank easy to identify with the shade of blue it is depicted in; making it easy for the players distinguish as a item because of it sharing the color of the player characters uniforms. I found the Pistol models to be the most fun to model. I am pretty happy with how the pistols turned out considering that they are low poly. In particular I really love the second pistol model I made with the flashlight attachment. These pistol models are intended to be used by the Grunt Soldiers as a primary weapon. It seemed reasonable for the enemy characters to have some level of customizability similar to the player characters. This also adds a bit of unique flavor to the game world. The last thing I've worked on as of late was the alternate model of the LINDA Tank. This version of the the Tank model is a bit thicker, however mostly the same in terms of overall geometry. The most notable difference between this version and the original is the shape of the turret; which is more cube shaped in this version. After having said all this; I hope to continue refining model development and art direction in Shellshufflers.
